Mission
The mission of STAND (Students Taking Action Not Drugs) is to recruit students from high school and college campuses to disseminate substance abuse information and advocate healthy life choices by using free, integrated social media and web-based campaigns.
These campaigns consist of substance abuse prevention messages that intend to change attitudes and behaviors.
History
STAND is a division of Drug Free America Foundation and was founded in 1999 by university students worldwide concerned about the spread of drug abuse on college campuses.
Goals
- To support students’ decisions to live drug free
- To provide scientific-based principles in educating high school and college students about the dangers of substance abuse
- To reduce drug use among 16-25 year olds
- To encourage advocacy for drug free choices
