The Evidence - Science Doesn't Lie
This Isn't Your Mom and Dad's Weed
Today's pot is usually around 5-6 times stronger than the kind grown and used in the 1970s, but it can sometimes reach levels 33 times as strong (Marijuana Potency Project, report No. 83. University of Mississippi, 2003). The Journal of the American Medical Association released a highly-anticipated study in 2003 which said that although the number of marijuana users had stayed the same, more people had a marijuana disorder in 2001-2002 as opposed to 1991-1992. The scientists suggested that this increase in pot-related problems is probably due to the fact that marijuana is much stronger now than it was even ten years ago.
